Kraków is surprisingly good for children — and not in the way of museums full of "do not touch" signs. A dragon that breathes real fire, a dog statue with a running joke attached, interactive museums and a park where you can step inside a lightning bolt. Here is a route children will remember.
Krakow with children — the route
Wawel Dragon — sculpture and cave
The metal dragon sculpture by the Dragon's Den breathes real fire every few minutes. Children wait for it with genuine suspense. The cave is open seasonally — enter from the Vistula riverbank side.
The dog monument — a local joke
On the riverbank below Wawel there is a small dog statue. Locals joke it's the only dog monument in Kraków and you have to visit it. Children accept this completely. Worth seeing yourself before telling them about it.
